Privacy Policy

This is a personal website, run by me, Kirill Gavrilenko. I collect as little as possible, and this page explains in plain English what that little is, who handles it and what you can ask me to do about it.

Last updated

The short version

  • I don’t set cookies or use local storage, so nothing is saved in your browser.
  • There are no advertising trackers or ad networks, and I don’t use Google Analytics.
  • There are no accounts, newsletters, payments or comments, so there is nothing to sign up for.
  • The one thing you can send me is a message through the contact form. I use it only to reply to you.

Who is responsible

I’m Kirill Gavrilenko, an individual, and I run this site. I decide what happens to any personal data described on this page. I don’t publish a postal address or a public email address, so the best ways to reach me about privacy are the contact form or LinkedIn.

The contact form

If you write to me through the contact form, I collect the three things you type in: your name, your email address and your message.

When you press send, the form goes to this site’s server, which forwards it to me by email through Resend, an email delivery provider. The message is not stored in any database on this site. I use your details only to read your message and reply to it, and I don’t add you to any mailing list.

I keep the email only for as long as I need it to deal with your message. If you would like me to delete it sooner, just ask.

Spam protection

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real people from bots. To do that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and some signals from your browser. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy explains how it handles that data.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted on Vercel. Like most web hosts, Vercel’s servers log the technical details of each request: your IP address, your browser’s user agent, the page you asked for and the time. That is how pages get delivered to you and kept running smoothly. You can read Vercel’s privacy policy for the details.

Page performance data

I use Vercel Speed Insights to check how quickly pages load for real visitors. It collects anonymous, aggregated data such as the page route, device type, browser, country and load timings. It uses no cookies, doesn’t follow you across other websites and isn’t used for advertising.

Cookies, fonts and embeds

This site sets no cookies and uses no local storage. The fonts are hosted on the site itself, so your browser doesn’t contact Google to load them. There are no embedded third-party videos and no ad networks. Cookie count: zero.

I link to places like LinkedIn and X, and to tools I mention in articles. Those sites have their own privacy policies and I don’t control what they do, so it is worth a quick read before you hand them your data.

Where your data goes

Vercel, Resend and Cloudflare are US companies, so data they handle may be processed outside the country where you live. Their privacy policies explain more.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you rights over your personal data. You can ask me:

  • what data I hold about you, and for a copy of it (access)
  • to fix anything that is wrong (correction)
  • to delete your data (deletion)
  • to stop using your data in a particular way (objection)

You can also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority if you think I have handled your data badly. I would appreciate the chance to put things right first, but you don’t have to ask me before you complain.

To make a request, use the contact form or LinkedIn. I may need to check that you are the person the data belongs to before I act on it. The only personal data I hold myself is whatever you send me through the contact form, and wherever you live, you are welcome to ask what I have.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you think a child has sent me a message, get in touch and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I change how the site handles data, I will update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed. For the rules of using the site itself, see the Terms and Conditions.
